Currently having issues installing a child theme with WPEngine. Built the child theme with EDIP v2.7.2.
Easy Demo Import admin menu item shows black text. Upon inspection Chrome Console shows 404 error for several jedi apprentice files: “Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 404 ()”
I attempted to install an earlier version of the child theme using an older EDIP version, but the same 404 errors in console showed up.
Is there a way to determine if this is an issue specific to WPEngine? I’ve installed the latest version of the child theme on other hosts successfully. -

Thanks for responding! I don’t at the moment, but my understanding is WPEngine is more locked down out of the box, so this is likely the cause. I’m waiting for client to provide their support pin so I can work on this with a WPEngine agent.
Is there something specific I should request from the agent regarding permissions?

I attempted a demo import despite the 404 errors, but the only option available was “Import WP Options” checkbox. All others were missing. The process stalled during import with no import status indicators. I abandoned the import screen and no data (pages, posts, etc) was imported.
Client doesn’t want to provide me with support pin to troubleshoot, so I’ll let them know it’s a file permissions issue specific to WPEngine I guess. 🤷♂️

@stina It also could be a security plugin that is active on the site. I don’t know if WPEngine has something like that installed by default.
Security plugins should be disabled during import. The things the import is doing is pretty much exactly what you wouldn’t want an untrusted person to be able to do on a site.

the client sent me the error log when installing the child theme. I put it in your contact form, but there’s some PHP script, so it won’t allow to send. Is there another way I can share this with you in case you find some useful information from the log?
I should add they gave me ftp credentials, so I can check permissions there. Would you know specifically what I should look for? Can I reset permissions from within FileZilla Client? -
