I learned a lot using videos on elegant themes site as well as a number of YouTube video walk throughs.

Also take a look at the premade layouts in the Visual Builder and sites like Divi Space for a number of great child themes, which give you a great complete site with all the settings and pages you need.

Elegant Themes have also got some amazing free layout packs which help you differentiate your sites.

Daryl is good but my fav is Ferdy, he explains it all so clearly & easy to follow
